Some of the products and services we provide include: stone cutting, stone veneer, bluestone, tread, and flagstone.

Stone cutting is one of those skills that cross the line between craftsmanship and artistry.  Our skilled stone cutters can take the stones you select and cut them to fit all of your applications. However, think outside of the box; our stone cutters can work with you to create designs that go beyond what you find in the typical outside countertop or steps.

Stone veneer is a stone surface that is used to cover interior or interior surfaces.  A lightweight product, which is usually about an inch thick and weighs less than 15 pounds per square foot, stone veneer can be used on surfaces without additional structural supports, making it more versatile than other decorate stone surfaces.  It can be made from both quarried and collected natural stones as well as from manufactured stones.

Pennsylvania Bluestone

Bluestone is a building stone, often used for paving stones, that has a blue-hue.  In the Northeast, most of our bluestone is a sandstone that is sourced from New York and Pennsylvania and is known as Pennsylvania Bluestone.  However, if you want a different type of stone, Shenandoah Bluestone has a similar look, but is actually a limestone from the Shenandoah Valley.  Both are flexible building materials with a number of outdoor applications, but the Shenandoah variety is more gray-based, while you can often find a variety of accent hues in the Pennsylvania variety.

Tread refers to stones that are already cut to fit a specific purpose, such as a step.  In addition to being used on stairs, these treads are also used as landings, sills, hearths, mantles, in coping applications along pools or the tops of walls, and as caps to other projects.  We carry several stock lengths and widths in sizes frequently used in building applications, but can also custom-cut slabs for specific applications.  Tread is generally made from thermally-treated bluestone, to create durable and non-slip surfaces.

Flagstone is basically any flat sedimentary stone slab and can refer to a variety of different stone types.  Generally, it is used for paving purposes.  Flagstone can but cut into squares or rectangles and used as part of a paving pattern, or left in a natural-looking shape.   These two varieties are referred to as pattern flagstone and irregular flagstone, respectively.
